Recently a friend called me and told me her sister wants to know about online schools in India. Her sister recently moved to Dubai with her family and is having a hard time adjusting to the change. She wanted to know if any online schools in India can enroll their children who are currently in Dubai.

After a discussion with her, I realized she had some concerns related to:

Cultural differences: The new environment and culture could potentially affect her children’s education.

Lack of resources and infrastructure - Education in Dubai is quite different from that of India, so her children may not have access to the resources and infrastructure they are used to.

Isolation from the local community - Moving to a new country can be daunting, and her children might feel isolated from the local community.

Expensive schools - She is worried about the expensive school fees that could come along with enrolling her children in a physical school.

Travel to school- With the new environment, she is also worried about issues related to traveling to and from school.

School Fee- The high cost of school fees has been a concern for many expats in Dubai.

These are all legitimate concerns. It’s an unfortunate reality that many expatriate families have to face when they move to a new country, especially if their children are still of school age.

Her fears are not unfounded. The UAE is a rapidly growing economy and with that comes the influx of ex-pats from all over the world, which can often make it difficult for children to adjust to their new surroundings. With the growth of technology, online schools are becoming increasingly popular among parents in the UAE who are looking for ways to ease their children's transition into their new environment.

Fortunately, there are many online schools available in India and the UAE that offer an international education for expatriate children. These online schools are more than just a way to continue their education; they provide a sense of familiarity and community to ease the transition.

Most online schools have teachers based in India or other countries so the students can connect with them on a personal level. This helps the students become more comfortable with their studies and helps to bridge any cultural or language gap that may exist.

Online schools also provide access to resources from around the world, giving students a global perspective which can be invaluable when it comes to understanding different cultures.

Finally, these online schools provide the opportunity for ex-pat children to keep in touch with family and friends back home, making them feel more connected.

UAE online schools have seen a rise in enrolments in recent times, indicating that many parents are increasingly finding solace in this form of education for their children.

When parents are moving it India they are concerned about their kid's education, often online schools offer parents the perfect solution. Not only do they provide an education that is equal to brick-and-mortar institutions, but it also offers a sense of security and familiarity for expatriate children.

Some parents prefer to have an Indian curriculum for their kids and online schools are giving these options to students no matter where they are.

With access to resources from around the world and teachers based in India or other countries, these online schools can help bridge any cultural or language gap and make ex-pat children feel more connected.

Why do parents move to UAE from India?

There are many reasons why parents choose to move their families from India to the UAE. Some of the popular reasons include better job opportunities, higher salaries, tax-free income, a better lifestyle, and more options for higher education.

The UAE is also a much safer place than many other countries in the world, making it an ideal home for ex-pat families who value safety and security.

Ultimately, the decision to move from India to the UAE is a personal one and can vary depending on individual circumstances.

I remember a classmate in college who was living in India away from her parents in Muscat to study at Indian College because they were not happy with education there thankfully with the rise of online schools and colleges now students will not have such problems.

My son goes to an Online school and I see the diversity in his classroom, students from different backgrounds all joined together in the same virtual classroom. Online schools provide us with another option to provide our children with quality education without having to uproot them and move away from the comfort of their homes. His classmates are living in Dubai, Bali, while some are always on the move.

Online schools have come a long way since they were first introduced to the market. Many parents are now trusting these schools for the quality of education they provide.

The convenience of online classes, no matter where you live, has made it a popular choice among parents in the UAE who are looking for ways to ease their children's transition into their new environment.

Remote schooling means parents need to stay back at home with kids or work remotely from wherever they are. This option is quite suitable for parents working from home or traveling with their kids.

Parents for whom education was a restricting factor to relocate to a new country, now have the option to move with their children and enroll them in online schools, giving them access to quality education without any disruption

This shows that online schools can be an invaluable resource for expatriate families, providing not only an education but also a sense of security while they adjust to their new environment. For Indian parents in the UAE, online schools are becoming an increasingly popular way to ensure that their children have all the resources and support they need to succeed academically.

Why are parents and students choosing distance learning?

Are more top schools/ international schools in Dubai switching to a hybrid learning model?

Cambridge international-backed school, My Online Schooling recently held a survey with 500 UAE parents to assess their changing needs and understand the current educational trends. Astoundingly, 89% of participants voted for transitioning from traditional classrooms to hybrid learning models. The results of this research confirm that our education system must rapidly evolve in order to meet these growing demands!

Online schools have come a long way since they were first introduced to the market.

Classrooms and Curriculums

When asked what changes parents would like to see in the classrooms and curriculums, an overwhelming majority of 56% wanted more emphasis on mental health and overall well-being. Additionally, 50% expressed a need for renewed focus on developing softer skills such as empathy and confidence, while 49% voiced their desire for increased attention toward STEM subjects.

Fortunately, these requirements are right in line with the UAE government's new educational goals announced earlier this year which stress the importance of prioritizing mental health along with continued dedication toward teaching STEM courses to nurture future generations' workforce potentials.

  • Many parents are now trusting online education for the comfort it provides
  • The convenience of online classes, no matter where you live, has made it a popular choice among parents in the UAE who are looking for ways to ease their children's transition into their new environment.

  • Parents for whom education was a restricting factor to relocate to a new country, now have the option to move with their children and enroll them in online schools, giving them access to quality education without any disruption
  • Focus on developing softer skills-Online schools have also begun to focus on the development of soft skills, to help students become well-rounded individuals. By introducing activities like mindfulness exercises and emotional intelligence programs, these schools aim to equip children with essential life skills that will be beneficial for their future.
  • Proximity of the school- When schools are far away, it can be difficult to access quality education, and online schools bridge this gap by providing proximity to the students, no matter where they are located.
  • Flexible timings - Online learning option also allows for more flexible learning timetables, thus providing students with the opportunity to learn at their own pace, and on their own terms. Personalized Learning- The unique approach of online schools gives them an edge in terms of personalized learning as well.
  • Pandemic has accelerated the process of digital transformation in the education sector and online schools are only getting more popular. Post Covid this switch to online school has been seen all over the world. Online schools have become a more viable option for parents, as they provide their children with the same level of quality education, while also taking into account the students’ mental and physical well-being. Parents are now trusting these schools to ensure that their children have all the resources and support they need to succeed academically
  • Rising school Fees- A survey conducted by My Online Schooling has revealed that an overwhelming majority of parents - 87% - are anxious about high school fees potentially limiting the quality of education their children will receive in the future. Furthermore, more than half (52%) reported cost was a major factor influencing which school they choose for their kids.

This trend of students traveling requires the curriculum to focus on the individual needs of students. This trend of students traveling requires curriculums to focus on, creating global citizens, who have the power to make a difference in their society, environment, and economy. With new educational goals and changes in the way curriculums are designed, teaching methods have evolved and adapted to this changing landscape.

With more and more students moving away from the traditional classroom, educators must take into consideration the new platform for learning by including technology-based tools, focusing on personalized learning, soft skills development as well as nurturing future workforce potentials through STEM courses. The future of online schooling is bright and its potential to revolutionize the teaching-learning process is undeniable.

This shows that online schools can be an invaluable resource for expatriate families, providing not only an education but also a sense of security while they adjust to their new environment. For Indian parents in the UAE, online schools are becoming an increasingly popular way to ensure that their children have all the resources and support they need to succeed academically.
