s a worldschooler, I've embarked on a journey of exploration and discovery, immersing myself in a world of boundless learning opportunities.

My quest to unravel the mysteries of cultures, people, and places has led me down a path of enlightenment and empowerment, fueled by the belief that education knows no boundaries and that learning is a lifelong adventure.

During a virtual trip with Andreas Wil Gerdes and his family, Maya shared her travels with us as we explored almost 7 to 8 countries including Malta, Germany, the Netherlands, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Albania, Kosovo, and Northern Macedonia.

It was a fun experience to learn about these places as we followed Andreas and his family on their journey before reaching home in Bansko, Bulgaria. I had a wonderful time exploring the Swiss Alps and the Bansko Mountains, as well as learning about the local culture along the way.

We had a great time travelling with Adi like a virtual co-pilot; he is already following the pattern of the Grand Tours at age 10. This is impeccable as it allows him to think and operate beyond borders. - Andreas Wil Gerdes.
Adi's research and exploration played a massive role in our physical travel, and he shared his insights about the places they were visiting. - Andreas Wil Gerdes.

Last year, I had the privilege of exploring various regions of India, connecting with non-traditional learners, and embarking on an incredible adventure.

I went off the beaten path and immersed myself in communities of homeschoolers, unschoolers, and alternate learners who embodied the spirit of curiosity and innovation.

Their stories resonated with me deeply, and I developed a strong passion for sharing their narratives with others.

This passion led me on a journey as a documentarian, driven by a desire to capture the essence of my experiences and travels and capture the moments of enlightenment and inspiration that have shaped my worldview.

Supported by the MaNaBu Movement and guided by the visionary Lara Olbeter, alongside the expertise of Andreas Wil Gerdes and Falk Seidler, I started participating in the film making project that changed how I see learning and life.

As co-learners from places like Bansko and Malta, we meet virtually to share our insights and talents. Our journey of self-discovery and creative expression is centred around the art of filmmaking, which allows us to share our collective wisdom with the world.

Film Making session in progress

As I delve deeper into film production, I am developing many skills. These include editing, filming, writing, recording, networking, and more.

Each task came with unique challenges and opportunities, pushing me to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. However, through hard work and dedication, I learn the importance of resilience and the satisfaction of creative collaboration.

As a worldschooler documentarian, I've gaining more than just technical filmmaking skills. The journey is teaching me invaluable lessons such as asking for help, effective communication, discipline, and being fully present and engaged.

These pillars form the foundation of my growth in this field. Through the lens of my camera, Through my experiences, I have seen the vast beauty of humanity in all its diversity and complexity.

Education has the power to transform and unlock the limitless potential within us. I have learned that authentic learning knows no limits; it is fostered by curiosity and imagination and extends beyond the traditional classroom setting.

As I explore the world and document the stories of those who challenge conventions, I am reminded of the privilege and responsibility of being a worldschooler. Through each photo and story, I aim to inspire others to embrace the world and discover new things.

Ultimately, it is through exploration and learning that we indeed come alive.
