ith so much changing in the way children are learning and adapting to the new ways of schools, its important that parents motivate the kids to be positive.

Kids need motivation in order to stay on track with their goals. When children are motivated, they are more likely to put forth the effort required to succeed. Additionally, kids who are motivated tend to be happier and more engaged in life.

When kids are motivated, they are more likely to succeed in school and in life. Therefore, it is important for parents to find ways to motivate their kids.

Here are some ways in which parents can motivate their kids-

1. Appreciate them: A simple appreciation or acknowledgement goes a long way in making the child feel good and confident about themselves. Try and catch them doing something right and then praise them for it. This will definitely encourage them to keep up the good work.

2. Set clear goals: Help them set realistic and achievable goals. This will help them stay focused and work harder towards achieving those goals.

3. Be a good role model: Kids tend to follow in the footsteps of their parents. So if you as a parent are motivated and working hard towards your goals, your child is likely to do the same.

5. Help them find their passion: Everyone has something that they are passionate about. Help your child find what theirs is and then encourage them to pursue it. This will help them stay motivated as they will be doing something that they love.

6. Free Exploration: Always deciding everything for kids can become very boring , let kids explore what they would really like to learn be it games or any academic subject. It might be difficult for a kid to be equally excited for everything you have planned, they may show inclination towards music or reading. Their interests and passions should be valued.

7. Share stories: Your kids might be passionate for a game or technology. Show them how some people have reached heights in those fields, read about these people together. How it was a struggle for them and how they achieved what they wanted to achieve.

8. Be Involved: In whatever your kids are doing, take interest in it and be there for them when they need you. This will help them feel supported and motivated.

9.Introduce them to books : Introducing kids to books that celebrates achievements of successful people can motivate kids like biographies or autobiographies. Do a research together on those people where your child shows interest to know more. Books like Zen pencils can be a great read, they are well illustrated and the stories are very inspiring as well.

10. Make a plan: Kids need to have a plan and know what they are working towards. This could be short term or long term, but having a plan will help them stay focused and motivated.

11. Create a positive environment: Create an environment at home that is positive and supportive. This will help your kids feel good about themselves and their efforts.

12.Encourage positive thinking: Teach your kids to think positively and believe in themselves. This will help them stay motivated even when things get tough.

13.Flow theory for kids: Setting achievable targets based on their individual strength is very important for kids. If the task is too challenging the child can loose interest and as psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi explains this as ‘being in the zone’. It is a mental state in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of invigorated focus, involvement and enjoyment in the process of the activity.

14.Being consistent:  Motivation can be propelled by consistency. Making goals need a plan and plans need a consistent work. Without consistency the plan falls all over the place and frustration ensues. Asking your kids to finish their work randomly will not help instead a routine to work on their goals will really help.

15. Be patient: Last but not the least, be patient with your kids. They might not always get things right but it is important to remember that they are still learning. So be patient and help them along the way.

Parental motivation is extremely important for a child's development. By following the tips mentioned above, you as a parent can play a major role in your child's life and help them stay motivated even during tough times.
