ou come home after a tough day, your kid wants to play with you. But you don't have the energy to play. You might think that playing is childish and you're too old for that. But research shows that playing with your kids has many benefits.

There are plenty of reasons why parents should play with their kids. It's a great way to bond with them, it helps them develop important social skills, and it can be educational too.

Plus, let's face it - playing with your kids is just plain fun! So if you're looking for a great way to spend some quality time with your kids, why not break out the toys and start playing together? You might be surprised at how much you enjoy it.

1) You get to peek into their world-: It is so interesting to know what goes on in your kid's head. By playing with them, you can get a first-hand account of their thoughts, feelings, and interests.

When I play with Adi, he has lots of stories to share with me about his friends and the games he plays, we have great conversations together.

2) You get to relive your childhood-: Playing with your kids can be a great way to nostalgic. It can also be a fun way to see the world through their eyes and experience things in a new way.

It doesn't matter if your parents were involved when you were a kid but you must find time for your child.

3) Playing helps you forget your troubles-: When you're caught up in the everyday stresses of life, it can be easy to forget what's truly important. Spending time playing with your kids can help you remember what's important in life and put your problems into perspective.

I have a friend who says that he makes sure to spend 1 to 2 hours with his child after he is back from work and his child looks forward to that time of the day.

4) You can teach them new things-: Playing is a great way to teach kids about the world around them. Whether it's learning about numbers and shapes with a board game, or role-playing different scenarios to teach them about empathy and cooperation, there are endless possibilities for learning through play.

Though you can add some value to their play remember not to make it boring by giving too many facts ad asking questions.

5) You can bond with them-: Spending time playing together is a great way to create strong bonds with your kids. It's a chance to connect with them and have some fun at the same time. And as they get older, those bonds will be crucial in helping them feel comfortable coming to you with problems or big news in their lives.

When parents are unable to bond with kids, they find it difficult to share problems later. There is a huge gap in their relationship.

6) You can teach them important social skills-: Playing with other kids is a great way for them to learn important social skills like sharing, taking turns, and communication. And as they get older, those skills will be essential in helping them succeed in school and their future careers.

But again any advice you give should not become a lecture, it should come from the behavior you show to kids.

7) You can model positive behavior-: As a parent, you're a role model for your kids in everything you do. So when you play together, you're not only modeling how to have fun and be creative, but you're also teaching them how to be respectful, patient, and fair.

8) You can have fun together!-: Playing together is a great way to relax and unwind after a long day. It's a chance to forget about your worries and just enjoy each other's company. And it's a lot of fun!

If you are not sure how to play with kids, here are some ways simple ways to get involved in their life:

1) Get down on the floor and play with them at their level.

2) Follow their lead - if they're interested in a certain toy or game, go with it.

3) Be silly - make funny faces, sing songs, and be open to trying new things.

4) Be patient - playing with young kids can be frustrating at times, but it's important to stay calm and let them lead the way.

5) Keep it simple - don't try to make the game too complicated or challenging.

6) Let them win - sometimes it's more important to let them feel successful than to win the game yourself.

7) Be encouraging - let them know that you're having fun and that they're doing a great job.

8) Take turns - it's important to share and take turns, even if it means letting them have the best spot or the best toy.

9) End on a good note - try to end the game on a positive note so that everyone feels good about the experience.

10) Ask them what they like to do-: A great way to play with your kids is to ask them what they like to do. This shows that you are interested in their interests and it will give you some ideas of things to do together.

11) Get outside-: Spending time outdoors is a great way to bond with your kids and get some exercise. Go for a walk, ride bikes, or play catch in the backyard.

There are many benefits to playing with your kids, but these are just a few of the most important ones. So next time you're feeling stressed or short on time, remember that spending some quality time playing with your kids can be good for both of you.
