eading is a fundamental skill that helps children learn and develop. However, many children around the world do not have access to books in their mother tongue, which can make learning to read more difficult. Story Weaver is a non-profit organization that is working to change this by introducing books in a variety of languages.

Story weaver is committed to diversity in reading by providing books in a variety of languages, including indigenous languages. The organization works with local communities to create books that are culturally relevant and appropriate for the target audience. This approach ensures that children can see themselves in the stories and better engage with the material.

So far, story weaver has created over 38000 books in 300 languages, and the organization is continuing to expand its reach. By providing books in mother tongues, story weaver is helping to break down barriers to reading and opening up a world of possibilities for children around the globe.

According to Purvi Shah who leads the Story weaver initiative, "Without easy access to books in their mother tongue languages, children struggle to learn to read and practice their reading skills. Pratham Books was set up to bridge this immense reading gap that exists in India.

StoryWeaver is a digital platform built for scale by Pratham to address the scarcity of books for children through a new approach to book creation and distribution.

StoryWeaver is a repository of high-quality, openly licensed multilingual storybooks. Every book is freely available in multiple formats. The books can be read online as well as offline, are printer-friendly, and can be translated and remixed.

The platform makes it easy for any individual, organization, or institution to find the books they need, in the language they need, and distribute them as widely as possible to help children learn to read.

We started using story weaver a couple of years back. We love the website not only because it has a huge collection of books but we love the books for the illustrations.

Even now, he would spend hours on the website and reading different stories. I think this website is perfect for those kids who love to read and explore new things. The stories are also quite engaging and my son loves the way they are illustrated.
